Our June 2026 plant is an aquatic perennial that forms clumps of basal leaves emerging above shallow water. The ascending leaves are hastate to sagittate with pointed basal lobes and entire margins. The tiny white, cream, or pale yellow flowers are arranged along a cylindrical spadix that is surrounded by a narrow light green spathe opening partway in the middle. This plant will be found blooming in late spring to early summer in swamps, ditches and the margins of ponds, slow-moving shallow rivers.
