Our mystery plant for this month is a yellow-flowered perennial with compound leaves of 5 leaflets. The flowers are umbel-like on long peduncles. The 5-8 fruits are pod shaped, about 1-1.5 inches long and give this plant its common name. This plant blooms from June to September. It grows in various habitats such as waste places and along powerlines.
