This month’s mystery plant is a non-native biennial with hairy stems, alternate leaves and irregular flowers. The leaves are lance-shaped and the leaf margins are entire. The flowers are blue and tubular-shaped with 5 petals and 5 stamens which extend well beyond the length of the petals. This plant grows 1-3 feet tall and blooms from June to November. It can be found growing in fields and waste places.
