What plant is that?
This month’s mystery plant is a perennial with red, two-lipped flowers. The upper lip is two-lobed and the lower lip three-lobed. It grows from three to five feet tall. Its favorite habitat is wet areas along streams and in swamps and it blooms from July to September. It belongs to the same family of plants as the mystery plant for March 2011.
