This plant is a shrub which grows two to three feet tall and blooms in early May. It grows in dense clumps in dry, rocky places and spreads by underground stems or stolons. The flowers grow in racemes of ten to fifteen blossoms. The flowers are white and have five petals, five sepals and twenty stamens. The fruit is a small pome with ten seeds. The leaves which begin to unfurl at flowering time are alternate and toothed.
This shrub in not very common, but is found occasionally along power lines, sandy roadsides and rocky hillsides.It’s. . .
